Resolve to be thyself, and know that he who finds himself, loses his misery.
Matthew Arnold…
To love yourself is to shut the door on all negative emotions intending to enter your life. When we love ourselves, we are optimistic about life, vibrant and besides, who doesn’t like hanging around a happy person. Happy people attract positive energy and people into their life. Happy people possess contagious energy that fills a room full of pessimistic people, and lure them to want to change. Have you ever seen someone all happy and jovial at a time in their life when you know that things aren’t going so well for them? It makes you wonder what their secret is, and how they manage to maintain a cheerful soul during tough times.
The daily distractions of life make us lose ourselves, forget who we are or what our life purposes are. We tend to be reactive to life circumstances instead of being proactive because we don’t know ourselves in depth yet we think we do. Many times we tell people that ,” I know myself better”, but do we?
Know yourself. Who are you? What is your purpose in life? What are your strengths and weaknesses, and are you well aware of how to use them to your advantage? Things are not going too well for you and you are failing to tackle life, because you don’t know who you are. If we knew ourselves better all our misery would fly out the window. Our problems, stress and depression would vanish. We would be free. Instead, we have locked ourselves up in cages and put ourselves under bondage yet we are meant to spread our wings and fly.
Humanity perishes due to lack of knowledge. Not educational knowledge, but knowledge of who we are individually. We are blinded and fool ourselves that we know ourselves better yet we don’t.
It’s time for a change, discover yourself. Invest your time to self-development and some soul searching.
